Eggy Days

We love Easter at our house!!

We are lucky to have family close by. Ian's brother, Travis, and his family came over the day before Easter to have Easter dinner and an egg hunt with us.

Here is a shot of the cousins waiting for the daddies to hide the eggs! :)

Roo waiting patiently (and saying 'cheese!') for the hunt to begin!

On Easter itself we colored some eggs.

I saw in a magazine a new trick to coloring eggs and thought we'd try it.

You take 100% silk ties and cut the widest part off, tie that around a raw egg, and boil it for 15 mins.

The pattern transfers to the egg! Magic!

Checking out the 'tied' eggs...

I figured I'd go ahead and boil our eggs for the coloring at the same time...not exactly the best idea! :)

The color from the ties bled onto the white eggs...luckily it only turned them greyish, so they were still able to be colored.

This is a messy shot, but I wanted to include it because you can see the lovely yellow tulips that we discovered we have under our mailbox!

The 'tied' eggs are the ones with the fancy patterns. Ian took a couple of them that the pattern had only lightly transferred onto and dipped them into the coloring water to make 'em prettier.

We had a great time!

It's even more fun eating them. :)

Ethan has decided he doesn't like the middle, but he does like to 'hatch' them. :)

Tasty!

What fun!! I love it. Good egg dyeing there. Loved the last shot, egg in the croc.
