I learned about it from anotherlunch.com, one of my favorite blogs.
The style is called bento, and it's a Japanese way of packing lunches to eliminate garbage.
Plus...it's cute!! :)
The very first bento I ever did! It's got grapes with a fruit leather airplane, rolled turkey slice, carrot 'coins' with another fruit leather airplane, and tiny cookies. The other side has pasta with ranch and cheese airplanes and diamonds. :)
Second bento!! :) I am so pleased with how the apple turned out...the first time I'd ever made the checkerboard apple! There are mixed veggies, dinosaur shaped pb&j, and animal crackers.
This one is not quite as cute...I was going for a 'make-your-own-Lunchable' type deal...cheese triangles, turkey squares, green beans, and pineapple on sword picks with sprinkles. Then there's Ritz crackers, pickle circles on sword picks, and tiny cookies.
It's helped me pack healthier lunches for Ethan, and it's sort of a hobby now. HA! It's addicting. :)
